Falmouth University Online Prospectus
altcom designed and built an innovative online prospectus for Falmouth University that utlises responsive design to handle mobile and tablet devices, as well as laptops and PCs, from the same underlying content and templating stack. The whole prospectus is driven from the Drupal CMS platform.
Falmouth University Facebook Application
altcom has designed and built University College Falmouth's first Facebook application and set up their new official Facebook page, intregrating their YouTube, Twitter and news and events feeds whilst providing a course finder for Facebook users.
1SW Adventure Cycle Map Application
The 1SW Adventure Cycle Map web application was built using altcom's MapMentorCMS system to help open up off-road cycling in South West England's National Parks and protected landscapes.
Course Finder Web Widget
The Course Finder is a javascript 'widget' that allows potential students to easily locate courses on a university website. It complements the existing navigation and sits outside of the content management system structure to provide quick and easy access to course information. The widget expands out from a taskbar at the bottom of the screen to provide ready access to university course information, sitewide search tools and important "quick" links.
Mobile website for a University
University College Falmouth wanted to make their content management system website more accessible to mobile phones. With a tight budget and tighter deadlines they came to altcom to provide a phone optimised solution.
London Transport Museum
London Transport Museum, based in Covent garden, has a large collection which includes classic vehicles, posters, signs, uniforms, photos, maps and drawings. The museum website is largely delivered on the massive Transport for London (TfL) content management system. London Transport Museum wanted to create a sub-site for their Learning content, aimed at families, children and schools, and asked altcom to provide an Open Source content management solution that would integrate with the rest of the website.
Online Student Handbook
When University College Falmouth wanted to create an online version of its handbook for international students, altcom came up with an innovative solution that brought together the best of a book with the advantages of a web interface.
Social Enterprise Mark
The Social Enterprise Mark website was commissioned by RISE South West to promotesthe Social Enterprise Mark. The content management system development and website design work was carried our by altcom using the Drupal Open Source CMS.
Microseismic News & Information Service - microseis.net
In 2006 altcom launched a web based microseismic news and information service using its CMS, news processing and microseismic experience. The microseis.net service provides up to date information on all aspects the rapidly developing technology of microseismic reservoir monitoring for the oil and gas and geothermal industries.
The Architecture Centre Devon and Cornwall website
altcom developed the content management system for the Architecture Centre Devon and Cornwall with branding and design provided by the Falmouth based agency, Two Design.
Brasenose College Oxford
Brasenose College is one of Oxford University's top colleges with famous Alumni including David Cameron and Michael Palin. altcom's website development team provided new content management system for the college built with XHTML, CSS, PHP and SiFR. The website is hosted on Brasenose's own linux servers.
Funders and Funding Advisors Database
altcom created a Funding module for the creating:excellence regeneration and renewal website. The module allows registered users in the South West community regeneration sector to search for sources of funds and funding advice.
Parks and Gardens UK database and website
altcom provided the UK Parks and Gardens Database project with a fully integrated open source CMS website solution and web interface to an Oracle database holding detailed information on all the UK Parks and Gardens.
Global Information Source Processing
Design, development and implementation of news source processing software to interface with Factiva online news databases.
RISE South West CMS website
Created for the agency supporting social enterprises in the South West. Our role included project management, design commissioning and integration, database development plus server set-up, installation and commissioning. Ongoing maintenance and staff training.
Live/work Network CMS website
CMS website build for the Live/Work network using a supplied design. altcom also provides web hosting, maintenance and ongoing development. The Live/Work content management system was developed in 2003 using the old PostNuke 0.726 CMS.

Web design, code development, installation and commissioning of a content management system website for the European Union funded INTERREG IIIB IMAGE Project.

Implementation of supplied design, code development, installation and commissioning of Cornwall Marine Network's content management system website.
Live/work Homes website
Design, build, host and maintain this XHTML CMS website for the Live Work Network. Services also include Search Engine Marketing and Adwords. Live Work Homes is now the primary UK source for live/work property in the UK.
Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site CMS website
Having built the original Jurassic Coast website way back in 2007, altcom was commissioned to migrate the website to a new platform and do a complete re-design to reflect the development of the UKs best known World Heritage Site .
Project Taunton CMS website
Web site design using supplied brand guidelines plus bespoke software in Ajax and PHP integrated with the content management system. The web site was built using an open source CMS package (Joomla!). It includes integration of the SIMILE Timeline and an email Newsletter management system.
Cool Earth Action e-commerce CMS
CMS website integrating the Google Maps API and other Ajax/Javascript widgets. Mapping and CMS are coupled to eCommerce modules allowing acres of rainforest to be sponsored and viewed on Google Maps. Services include web design, dedicated webserver, system maintenance and bespoke software development.
University College Falmouth website redesign
The altcom web design team designed, built and implemented a new content management system template for the University College Falmouth website. This was to synchronise the website look and feel with the new prospectus.
World Heritage South West map web application
We designed and built an interactive mapping application for the South West World Heritage and UNESCO sites, to promote green tourism in the region. It is a rich web application tather than a traditional website and made full use of the technologies used to build it, including the Google Maps API.
VisitCornwall eCommerce photo website
Supply design and create full online photo gallery and e-commerce shop with content management and back-end administration functions.
